When I was starting out in Los Angeles I met a lot of acting teachers who made it very clear “if you want to succeed you need to be in my class.” But then I called Sal Romeo. When I told him I was looking for a class he said “let’s get coffee, I’ll tell you how I work, you can tell me what you are looking for, you can check out my class and if we think we can work together, cool, if not I’ll recommend 4 or 5 other acting teachers you should check out.” I studied and worked with him for many years. He was a fantastic teacher, director, producer, artist, human being and friend. I bet he would dig the whole “first session free,” thing. So let’s work on a scene or an monologue for an audition or for work or just ‘cause. Let’s see how we work together for one hour, for no charge and then take it from there.
