To all the roles I’ve loved before:

On TV two of my favorite roles were real life icons who my mother absolutely loved: Phil Donahue (a couple of scenes with Cate Blanchett, no big deal) in Mrs. America and Frank Sinatra on American Horror Story. (I think they hired me because of my blue eyes and then they digitally enhanced my blue eyes so…TV.) My longest running TV role is a character my mother definitely would NOT have loved: Police Officer Tim Wilson, head of the local chapter of The Purifiers —on season 2 of The Gifted. I never thought about it this way, but I guess I was a Marvel Villain. A recurring guest star Marvel Villain. That’s pretty cool.

Tom O’Keefe, Reel, 2026

On film, I loved playing Bobby in Craig Brewer’s Song Sung Blue, starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. It’s a fantastic movie made by wonderful people ABOUT wonderful people. It’s about music and love and life and family and dreams. It’s great. It’s also the first time I was actually punched in the face on film. I’d gladly let the wonderful Jim Belushi do it again, anytime.

Song Sung Blue (2025)

On stage, my favorite roles include Claudius and Cauchon in Bedlam’s Off-Broadway productions of Hamlet and St. Joan, The Hostage in The Coop’s Off-Broadway production of Terra Firma, and Henry Bolingbrooke opposite Rocco Sisto’s fantastic Richard in Shakespeare & Company’s production of Richard II.

If you wanna hear me talk about some of my work (‘cause really, who doesn’t want to listen to an actor talk about their work?) I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the amazing and talented Gary Farmer (who I had the pleasure of working with in the soon to be released George Bernard Shaw’s MAJOR BARBARA adaptation) for Film Talk Weekly.

Lawyer turned successful actor Tom O'Keefe talks with Gary Farmer about on-set stories, acting experience, teaching the next generation, raunchy on-stage performances, and more on this episode of Film Talk Weekly.
